Heureux 4e!

(Happy 4th!)
The Paris version.

We kicked started our 4th of July celebration with the great American tradition of hot dogs and a coke in a park.  Despite our hotdogs coming in a hollowed out baguette, and our coke was made with real sugar (when was the last time you had one of those) and our park was beautiful - flowerbeds from a former palace.  America!

We decided the another thing our American Holiday needed was American beer and fellow Americans.      We returned to Brewberry and meet up with Travis and Katie who were traveling France/Spain for a few weeks.  The waitress mentioned we had come a long way just to drink American beers, and then wished us a Happy Independence Day after we explained. We stayed a little longer and had a beer or so more than we ment to, turned out Travis lives in Connecticut.

Daniel and I had made pasta salad for the American Church of Paris's 4 of July potluck.  It did not quite live up to expectations and seemed to be a small gathering of Au Pairs and some older folks, and didn't really seemed to be church supported as supplies supported.  We hung out just long enough to feel awkward and then peaced.

I got a Croque Madam for dinner instead...sorry I had a ham and cheese sandwich, AMERICA!  We even got Heinz catchup for our french fries.... freedom fries.

Tea bag, river, you know where this is going.

No day of independence is completely unless tea is thrown in a river.  Daniel in a brave act of patriotism dared to recreate the Boston Tea Party next door to England.... America!

I hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July and very large thank you for all of those men and women who have served our country. Tomorrow I will go back to being completely infatuated with the french but today, and every day I am proud to be an American.  I was just much louder today... not about being American, just louder, have you ever noticed how loud we are when we are in other countries.

AMERICA!
